Looking Back at 2025 Style

Updated: Dec 22, 2025

Looking back at 2025 style, fashion has come a long way. Not in terms of the trends and styles we've adopted, if anything we've favoured a mishmash of old school heritage looks and influences most of us can remember doing before in the '80s and '90s, but rather our altered shopping habits.

What's been most surprising to me, is how vociferously the pre-loved marketplace has stormed to the forefront of the shopping experience in 2025. Even if you're not selling anything on Vinted, EBay or Vestiaire, you might at the very least be using one of these platforms to source cut price trainers or football merch for your teens.

I've sold over 500 items of clothing for my clients and I've really enjoyed this additional opportunity to engage with them; it's endlessly rewarding collecting sackfuls of clothes discarded from wardrobes to be sold on to new homes - not to mention the extra cash my clients have made back.

I look forward to more of the same as the new season kicks in next year and those stuffed wardrobes and drawers once again get turned over in the name of a less cluttered existence.

Here's what else I'll remember 2025 for (sartorially speaking):

1. Bows as accessories - bows used to be associated with Margaret Thatcher blouses and little girls, now they're cool, edgy even. This Christmas I'm clipping them to anything and everything (not just presents).

2. Butter yellow and chocolate brown - they're not for everyone but hallelujah they're great for those of us blessed with a paler pallor, especially at this time of year. Far kinder next to the face than black and gorgeously elegant, I'll be wearing head to toe chocolate on Christmas day (not like that).

3. Vinted - it's not perfect but it's getting there and better for the seller than Vestiaire with its extortionate fees. Nobody wants to wrestle with the sellotape and drag themselves to the Evri drop-off for a t-shirt sold for £2.50 but oh the joy when you sell that one-off piece for more than you bought it!

4. Claudia Winkleman's Traitors outfits - I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's a style that anyone of any age, shape and budget can embrace. Did you predict Argyle knits and tartan kilts becoming cool again this winter? No, neither did I... love it.

5. Blazers - I've always liked the idea of blazers but have never felt they were very "me". This year that changed, who knows why, possibly a mixture of the very mild autumn and my hot flushes making them more practical than a coat. Or maybe I just prefer my blazers belted (and this year I belted EVERYTHING).

6. Last but most certainly not least, my clients - I've met some amazing people this year, one client came all the way from New York for a personal shopping trip in London and we have another one planned for 2026. Thank you to all of you for taking that leap of faith and putting your trust in me.

Merry Christmas and a peaceful new year!
